Hugo is regarded as a trusted and pragmatic all-round communications advisor and brings a blend of international and local experience to his role as Partner in our Auckland office.
His communications, stakeholder and project management skills have been developed over many years, working on often complex and fast moving assignments. He has led the communications on a range of high profile campaigns, involving engagement at all levels with media, political, iwi, commercial and community groups.
In recent years, his work has concentrated on financial communications, maritime salvage and casualty management, resource consent applications, issues and crisis communications, change management, product innovation and development, industrial relations and litigation projects.
He heads the SenateSHJ financial communications practice in New Zealand, drawing on his substantial trans-Tasman shareholder communications experience involving market reporting requirements, IPOs, merger, acquisition and defense transactions.
Hugo holds a Diploma of Financial Markets from FINSIA (Sydney) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University. He has also studied a Post Graduate Diploma in Communications Management through Massey University.
Outside of work Hugo has a young family that enjoy spending as much time together as possible, including with extended family and friends. Hugo is an avid golfer, skier, scuba diver and a very much part-time road cyclist.
