SenateSHJ internships in Australia

SenateSHJ’s Australian offices offer an internship to an undergraduate or graduate each year. SenateSHJ seeks students who are committed, driven and down-to-earth to participate in our intern program.

Some criteria we look for: a strong academic record, exceptional communication and analytical skills, and the confidence to work independently.

A placement with SenateSHJ would be of particular value to students with an interest in communication strategy, corporate, government, financial or change communications, issues and crisis management, healthcare, social media, and facilitation and training.

Several of our interns have gone on to become members of the SenateSHJ team.

To apply for our intern program, please prepare a letter outlining why you would like to work with SenateSHJ. If you do not study a relevant communication field, then you should also demonstrate the relevance of your field of study. Attach a copy of your resume and send to:

We accept one intern each year. Applications close on 30 November.

SenateSHJ Prize New Zealand

SenateSHJ’s New Zealand offices offer the SenateSHJ Prize and Internship to students undertaking communications and reputation management studies at four tertiary institutions, including: Massey University, Victoria University, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and Unitec.

Four finalists are selected as the best of their class in an assignment set by course lecturers.  Each of these finalists wins $500. One of the four winners is then selected to work at SenateSHJ on a paid internship.

The SenateSHJ Prize encourages excellence in communications and aims to motivate students to undertake more rigorous thinking and evaluation in their work.
