A surge in reputation risks require boards and executives to create organisation-wide systems of resilience, incorporating culture, conduct, data, risk and performance. Boards must ensure trust, ethical leadership and reputation governance are at the core of organisational decision-making, treating reputation as a measurable performance system with the same diligence as financial risk. They must be supported by executive leaders across the organisation, ensuring that operational choices consistently meet expectations, especially during times of pressure.

Corporate affairs leaders need to shift to become system architects – embedding reputation into decision-making frameworks, helping to align behaviour with values, and ensuring the organisation is equipped to listen, learn and act across disparate stakeholders.
