Anita Abeygoonesekera brings more than 10 years’ experience across medical communications, scientific strategy and clinical practice. A former pharmacist, her early career in primary healthcare grounded her work in a strong understanding of patient and healthcare professional needs.
She has worked across Asia Pacific, including New Zealand, Singapore and mainland China, navigating the layers of some of most complex healthcare markets in the world.
Her work spans communications strategy, medical education and stakeholder engagement, with particular depth in oncology. She has guided clients through clinical development, data readouts and regulatory milestones – critical moments where clarity, credibility and reputation are at stake.
At the heart of it, she believes that science communicated well, changes how people understand it – and what they do next.
Anita has a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Physiology with Honours from the University of Auckland and the University of Otago, New Zealand.
