Cyber response and reputation rebuild for a global software as a service company

SenateSHJ consultants were engaged to provide crisis management support to a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider after it experienced a major data security incident.

The brief

SenateSHJ consultants were engaged to provide crisis management support to a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider after it experienced a major data security incident. Because of its global reach and significance, media speculation was intense.

The challenge

The situation was made more challenging by the requirement to notify the authorities within 72 hours, at a time when the full scale and impact of the breach was still unknown.

The approach

We worked with the client’s executive team to craft messaging and materials, and foster a transparent approach to communicating with employees, enterprise customers, individuals impacted and the media.

The outcomes

The introduction of the change program, structure and operating model reduced complexity and confusion. It also supported development of the right behaviours and a common language to create a high performing team, and drive culture change across the Group.

Client endorsement of our counsel and support

The team are smart, tenacious and above all, great to work with. Their depth and breadth of expertise across proactive and reactive communications meant that we receive relevant, high-quality advice regarding each opportunity or challenge. They are highly responsive and go above and beyond to help us achieve our goals.
