The Four Rooms of Change®

Why do 75% of change initiatives fail? Change is about people, yet organisations often neglect to support their people with new mindsets and the skills to navigate change.

The Four Rooms of Change® is a framework that creates lasting change.

We draw on a change theory that is both compelling and practical. It is globally known as the Four Rooms of Change® and has been used by leading companies, government organisations and schools.

The Four Rooms of Change®  deal with what happens to people and organisations in change, stress and transition. Through the Four Rooms, people learn how they can influence change by taking responsibility for their feelings and actions. Those leading the change are able to use the construct to get a much clearer picture of how people are responding, to better guide the direction and pace of change.

We use it to work with individuals. teams, groups, and organisations. It serves as a reminder that the dynamics of change are not linear, and people can be at different points in the journey at different times during periods of change. It provides a valuable framework for organisational dialogue and a shared language – ultimately leading to meaningful and lasting change.

When teams need to know not only ‘How are we doing?’ but also ‘What are we going to do about it?’ one of the Four Rooms components, the Organisational Barometer, provides the answers. This intensely practical tool allows teams to develop a prioritised action plan to address the changes they want to make.

The Barometer can be used to enhance the quality and clarify the meaning of data that you have already gathered from a survey.
