Lived experience engagement

We support clients to engage with lived experience in a meaningful, ethical way – creating safe spaces to listen, learn and drive change.

Lived experience can be raw, personal and fragile. It’s a gift — offered with the hope of driving change.

At SenateSHJ, we help clients approach these lived experience conversations with the respect they deserve.

We connect organisations with people from traditionally underrepresented groups, making sure the right voices are at the table and heard in the right way.

We are guided by our network of advisory partners and deep local knowledge to ensure our approach is safe, ethical and informed.

We work across sectors including government, health, housing, education, energy and infrastructure, supporting engagement on complex, often sensitive issues. Our team brings expertise in cultural safety, and inclusive design.

From stakeholder mapping to co-design, and facilitation to research, we help clients engage meaningfully with people who are too often excluded from decision-making. And we build internal capability through training in unconscious bias, critical conversations and more so organisations are ready to listen and act.
